You can be assessed for ADHD on the NHS through a referral from your GP. However, waiting lists in many areas are long, sometimes several years for adults.

- Ask your GP for an NHS referral to your local adult or child ADHD service
- Ask about Right to Choose if you live in England
- Book a private ADHD assessment for a faster answer, with no GP referral needed
Whichever route you choose, it is important that your assessment is carried out by a suitably qualified clinician and follows NICE guidance.
