After your ADHD assessment, the clinical information is reviewed and you are informed whether the evidence supports an ADHD diagnosis.
Two possible outcomes
If ADHD is diagnosed
Your report should explain the findings and recommendations relevant to your circumstances. The next stage is individual: some people mainly want understanding and practical strategies, while others want to explore treatment.
If ADHD is not diagnosed
Paying for an assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis. Your clinician should explain why the criteria were not met and identify appropriate recommendations or onward steps where possible.
Possible next steps
If ADHD is diagnosed, possible next steps can include:
Psychoeducation and ADHD-informed strategies.
Workplace, university or school adjustments.
Coaching or psychological support where appropriate.
Discussion of medication with an appropriately qualified prescriber.
Sharing your report with your GP or other professionals if you choose.
Medication. A diagnostic assessment does not automatically include medication. Medication requires a separate prescribing decision, relevant health checks and ongoing monitoring. If treatment is available through 101 Clinic, current fees and requirements will be explained separately.
GP and shared care. You may choose to share your report with your GP. A private diagnosis does not guarantee NHS prescribing or acceptance of a shared-care request. It can be helpful to discuss local arrangements with your GP.
The goal after assessment is to turn the clinical findings into useful next steps rather than leave you with a report and no direction.
Turn your findings into next steps
A post-diagnostic support appointment (£150) helps you talk through your report. ADHD medication consultations cost £195 to £250 where clinically appropriate.
