Does any of this sound familiar?
Many people spend years assuming everyone finds life this hard. If these feel like they were written about you, it may be worth finding out why.
Often linked with ADHD
- You start the day with a plan and end it wondering where the time went.
- A looming deadline is the only thing that really gets you moving.
- Your mind rarely switches off, even when you badly want to rest.
- Keys, bills and appointments slip through the cracks, however hard you try.
Often linked with autism
- Socialising leaves you drained, even when you enjoyed it.
- Noise, bright lights or certain textures can feel overwhelming.
- You've spent years watching others to work out how to fit in.
- A sudden change of plan can throw your whole day off.
Everyone recognises some of these at times. An assessment is worth considering when they have been part of your life for as long as you can remember and they get in the way of work, study or relationships.
Worried about your child?
If school reports, homework battles or friendships are raising questions, our child assessments involve you and your child's school from the start, and give you a clear report you can share with teachers and your GP.
Ask about a child assessmentChoose the assessment that fits
Every assessment is carried out by a specialist clinician and includes a detailed written report with practical recommendations.
ADHD assessment
For adults and children who struggle with focus, organisation, restlessness or impulsivity.
- Questionnaires before your appointment
- In-depth clinical interview
- Report shared with your GP if you wish
Autism assessment
For adults and children with differences in social communication, sensory experience or need for routine.
- Detailed developmental history

Combined assessment
ADHD and autism often occur together. One joined-up assessment looks at both, so nothing is missed.
- One process instead of two
- A clinician who can separate overlapping traits
- A single report covering both

In person, or from your own sofa

How it works
A clear process, so you always know what happens next.
Tell us what you need
Send an enquiry or call us. No GP referral is needed. We'll talk through your options and the cost before you book anything.
Complete questionnaires
You fill in questionnaires before your appointment. We may also ask someone who knows you well, or your child's school.
Your assessment
An in-depth conversation with a specialist clinician, in person or by video. It's a conversation, not an exam.
Your report and next steps
You receive a detailed written report and clear recommendations, whatever the outcome.
For the people who've been overlooked
ADHD and autism are often missed, especially when someone has worked hard to cope. We take the time to understand your whole story, not just how you come across in one appointment.

Adults who were never assessed
Many people only begin to wonder about ADHD or autism in their twenties, thirties or later, often after years of blaming themselves.
Women and girls
ADHD and autism can look different in women and girls, and are often mistaken for anxiety or low mood. Our clinicians understand how they can present.
Families facing long waits
NHS waiting lists can be long. A private assessment can give your family an answer, and a plan, much sooner.

Questions people often ask
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book a private assessment with us directly. If you would like us to, we can share your report with your GP afterwards, with your consent.
Can I be assessed online?
Yes. Online assessments take place by secure video with the same clinicians and standards as our clinic in Edgware. If your clinician feels an in-person appointment would suit you better, we'll discuss it with you.
Do you assess children?
Yes. We assess children and young people with close involvement from parents or carers, and usually from school too, so the outcome reflects how your child is at home and in class.
Will my GP accept a private diagnosis?
Most GPs will add a private diagnosis to your records. Whether a GP agrees to prescribe ADHD medication under a shared care agreement is up to them, so we recommend checking your practice's policy.
What if I'm not diagnosed?
You'll still receive a report explaining what the clinician found, and they may suggest other explanations or sources of support. Many people find that clarity valuable in itself.
How much does an assessment cost?
It depends on the type of assessment and whether it's for an adult or a child. Send an enquiry or call us and we'll explain the cost clearly before you book anything.
